另外,从唐三彩的烧制工艺上讲,我们也可以了解到他是一种低温铅釉陶器,也称三彩釉陶。唐三彩的制作工艺十分复杂,它是用白色粘土作胎,经1000度以上高温烧制,再以含铁、铜、钴、锰等元素的矿物作釉料的着色剂,在釉里加入一定量的炼铅熔渣和铅灰做助熔剂,经过八百多度的温度二次烧制而成。它主要是陶坯上涂上的彩釉,在烘制过程中发生化学变化,色釉浓淡变化、互相浸润、斑驳淋漓、色彩自然协调,花纹流畅,是一种具有中国独特风格的传统工艺品。
