光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。

此“广东省造光绪元宝库平重一两”，正面以珠圈为界，可分为内外两个部分：珠圈以外，上端为“广东省造”四字，下方为“库平重一两”五字，左右两侧各铸一蝙蝠图案；珠圈以内，铸有满、汉文“光绪元宝”四字。背面也以珠圈为界：珠圈外面，铸有双龙图案；珠圈里面，铸有一圆形“寿”字。这种银币有一个很显著的特色，那就是在币面两侧各有一蝙蝠图案。当时把它的图像铸在银币之上，寓有吉祥的含义。因为，蝙蝠的“蝠”字与幸福的“福”字读音相同，而把蝙蝠图案铸在币面上，系取“蝠”、“福”两字谐音。这枚保存完好，具有收藏价值。
